Welcome to our new website! Western Student Transportation, known as WST, was developed after Western students approved an Alternative Transportation Fee in April 2007. WST is responsible for representing and coordinating student transportation needs, and coordinates such services such as the WTA Viking Xpress Bus Pass and the WWU Late Night Shuttle.

Updates:

  • RIDER ALERT:
  • As of January 20, 2008, the WWU Late Night Shuttle will be using replacement buses provided by our contractor, Bellair Airporter. These replacement shuttles resemble large vans and display the Bellair Airporter logo. The WWU Late Night Shuttle will continue to operate as scheduled, and WWU buses will go back into operation as soon as possible.
  • Beginning January 6, 2008 WTA will begin serving the Fairhaven Transportation Center on Sunday evenings in order to provide service for passengers on incoming Greyhound buses and Amtrak trains. Go online to www.ridewta.com or e-mail AS.Transportation@wwu.edu for more information.
  • BUS PASS PICK-UP:
  • New students coming in Winter quarter will be able to pick up their bus passes at the Western Card Office starting Jan 2. Passes will be available by appointment Jan 2 - 4 and the Western Card Office will be open 10 - 4 on Sunday, Jan 6 and 9 - 4 Monday-Friday for the rest of the year starting January 7. The passes will be valid for use as soon as students pick them up.
  • To be eligible to receive a Viking Xpress Bus Pass, students must be registered for at least six credits OR be registered for 1-5 credits and "opt in" to the student transportation system by paying the Alternative Transportation Fee. The Viking Xpress Bus Pass is valid starting September 23, 2007 until mid-June 2008. Students attending Summer Quarter classes will be issued Summer Quarter passes starting Spring Quarter 2008.
